In an effort to provide the cleanest and most reliable PC workstations possible on your network, we have developed the Clean Workstation Service (CWS) program. If your business PCs are connected to the internet there are a plethora of nasty things that can happen to them. Hackers, viruses and nuisance spyware programs can render your mission critical business PC workstations at a minimum extremely inefficient, at worst unusable.  Having a reliable firewall and antivirus software is a great start, but following it up with our CWS once a month will guarantee the most reliable and trouble free computing environment available for your employees. This will help keep worker productivity up and costs down.

Our CWS system relies upon a three point maintenance system, which, when performed on a regular schedule will provide more reliable and efficient running PC workstations than you ever thought possible. As a bonus, we’ll make sure there is a free and easy to use “Pop-Up blocker” installed on each of the supported workstations. Here are the three points of the CWS system:
 

1. Patch Management - Almost daily Microsoft is issuing operating system software patches.  They are constantly fixing bugs, streamlining programs and drivers, plugging security holes and other vulnerabilities to the operating environment.  Running “windows update” regularly on your PC’s will provide the most robust and stable operating system available.

2. Spyware removal - While spyware may be a great concept for advertisers, the downside is that the advertising companies also install additional tracking software on your system, which is continuously "calling home", using your Internet connection and reporting statistical data to that company's servers. Generally, according to the privacy policies of the companies, there will be no sensitive or identifying data collected from your system and you remain anonymous, you still have a "live" server sitting on your PC that is sending information about you and your surfing habits to a remote location.  Having these programs running on your computers create annoying banner adds and dramatically reduce the performance of the workstation.  Even worse, there is not much we can do to prevent them completely. All we can do is clean them off regularly. The software tools we use will immunize your system from a majority of spyware programs, but like antivirus software, must be regularly maintained.

3. Antivirus Monitoring - Having antivirus (AV) is better than a good idea, it’s a minimum requirement if your corporate business network in connected to the internet.  But simply having AV doesn’t always guarantee success in the war against PC destroying programs riding the internet like the pirates on the seas of yesteryear. Making sure those virus updates and system scans are happening regularly and logs are being monitored are just as important to the success of a reliable and well performing PC workstation.

The process of performing these three tasks on an approved PC workstation takes an average of 30 minutes and costs a flat rate of $50 each.

* Approved PCs are defined as previously determined to be clean and undamaged by viruses, hackers or previous instances of spyware deployment.

** Reliability and performance claims only pertain to the use of Windows XP or Windows 2000 Professional versions of PC operating systems. We will support Windows 98, 95, ME or previous versions of Microsoft operating systems, but we make no guarantees, as these systems are inherently unstable by today's standards.
